Addiction Does Not Define You… Overcoming Does 2560 1709 Relife Egypt

One of the hardest things faced by people recovering from addiction is society’s perception and sometimes, their own perception of themselves.
As if what they went through has become tied to their identity, as if they will forever remain prisoners of the label: “former addict.”
But the truth is that a person is not their mistake… not their pain… not their past.
A person is what they choose every day, the decision they make now, the new attempt after every fall.
At Relife, we meet people who have faced the worst within themselves… yet they came back stronger, wiser, and more aware.
These are not weak people they are true heroes. Society needs to stop associating individuals with their hardest moments.Because anyone who chooses to rise again after the experience of addiction deserves to be seen as courageous, not as someone who “barely survived.”
It is overcoming that defines identity… not the wound.
